I have just returned from a walking holiday in South Devon. We were based near Ayrmer Cove. The coastal scenery around there is really spectacular, but unfortunately the weekend coincided with the wettest and gustiest of October weather so I feared that the holiday would be something of a write-off.

On Saturday we enjoyed a walk across the sea front from Dawlish Warren to Dawlish. As anyone who is familiar with this stretch of the Devon coastline knows, it is vulnerable to strong winds and high seas - famously during the Great Storm of 2014.
June 27 was no exception! There was a strong, gusty wind from the south west and the waves were crashing high on the sea wall. Exciting conditions but hardly ideal for a gently seaside stroll.

Yesterday we went to Dawlish Warren nature reserve for a walk along the sea shore. Though it was sunny, there was a strong and gusty wind which was making the sand blow about. There was also a high pollen count.
All the conditions a dry eye sufferer who is also allergic to pollen might dread.
But no problem, I put on my Ziena Kai at the start of the walk and I was the only one in our party to experience...

I've really noticed the wind today while I've been gardening. Though the sun is out, there's a persistent Easterly - particularly strong if you live on top of a hill like we do!
I've been wearing my Ziena Kai again today and have been very pleased to have efffective wind protection for my eyes. The silicone shield blocks the wind very well. It's like being in a bubble of calm while the wind blows around me.
I'll be grateful for my Ziena glasses again later this week...
